That kept the upgrade XCeed close to its chest, this is the first time we’ve seen it in testing, after the recent official sketch release. Kia’s compact crossover will continue to compete with cars like Citroen C4 and Mazda CX-30 and there will be design details tweaked to give it a sportier look.

Early sketches gave us a good idea of what was to come, but this prototype model spotted on the road confirms a few key design details.

Kia says the arrival of the new, dynamic GT-Line variant “will combine the adventurous design cues of a crossover with the sportiness of a European-focused hatchback”. The headlights will feature three signature lights and will feature new air intakes and a deep front bumper complete with silver bash plate-style inserts. At the rear, the bumper has a similar insert and Led light The clusters will mirror what the latest Ceed hatchback looks like.

We’re yet to see inside the XCeed’s cabin, but we expect the new car to feature the same dual-screen setup as the brand’s latest Niro SUV – available in either 10.25-inch or 12.3-inch forms. inches depending on trim levels – as does the company’s multi-mode control panel that switches between climate and audio controls at the touch of a button.

The XCeed is the best-selling model in the brand’s Ceed family, designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe, for Europe. The car’s slightly raised driving position has been a big factor in the XCeed’s popularity and the upgraded car will keep this configuration.

The XCeed will be available with a range of powerful electrified powertrains rather than the pure petrol offered in the current model. Mild hybrid gasoline and gasoline Dip into the mixture will be offered, and although the Korean brand hasn’t detailed it yet, the former will use 48-volt technology to provide a small power boost to help improve performance, while plug-in hybrids can will be carried over from the now discontinued XCeed PHEV . This car uses a 1.6-liter gasoline engine combined with a battery and an electric motor for a total capacity of 139 horsepower and a range of about 30 km.

Fitted with a dual-clutch transmission as standard, this can start from around £32,000 when it goes on sale later this year. The mild hybrid model will be cheaper and cost significantly less than £30,000. We’ll know more after the new XCeed launches on July 18.
