Kia India will bring more EV6 units in the country to fulfill pending orders

Kia India is looking to bring in more EV6 units into the country to cater for pending orders, the automaker said on Thursday.

The company says it has delivered 200 EV6 units, as fully built vehicles (CBUs), to customers to date.

This is already double the original plan of 100 units for the whole year, the Korean automaker said in a statement.

“Currently, the company is planning to further increase its total EV6 allocation by 2022 and complete most of its pending deliveries this year,” it added. The company launched the EV6 in the country in June of this year, and deliveries to customers began last month.

“When we launched the EV6, amid very positive feedback, we promised our customers to bring in more EV6 units, well beyond the 100 originally allocated for 2022. Going forward, our focus will be on completing deliveries of all existing and new pre-orders as soon as possible,” said Kia India Sales Manager, Myung-sik Sohn.

The EV6 is built on Kia’s dedicated platform tram platform, Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), and marked the beginning of thatjourney into the domestic electric vehicle space.

Vehicle has a range of up to 708 km after a full charge (ARAI certified).

As part of its electric vehicle roadmap, Kia also plans to launch India-focused electric vehicles by 2025 in the country.
