Kia KA4: fresh look, more space
Compared to existing Carnival Already on sale in India, the KA4 looks more like an SUV thanks to its angular lines and squarish silhouette.
At the front, it features the brand’s ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, with a diamond pattern flanked by sleek headlights. It has a striking chrome finish for the bottom air intake and a faux skid plate that enhances its SUV-like appearance.
In terms of profile, the KA4 has a prominent character line running the length of the MPV connecting the headlights and taillights. It gets brushed aluminum trim on the C-pillars, while the A, B and D-pillars are finished in black, creating an effect Kia calls an ‘island roof’. At the rear, it has horizontal taillights connected by an LED strip.
At 5,156mm long, the new KA4 is longer than before and significantly longer than the newly launched Innova Hycross.
Kia KA4: interior design, equipment and seating arrangement
Compared to the layered and multi-button design of the current Carnival, the KA4 has a more minimalist design, with two 12.3-inch screens taking the center stage. Kia has outfitted the new MPV with all the bells and whistles, including features like power front seats, wireless chargers and a premium sound system. It also has ADAS technology and multiple airbags as part of the safety kit.
Globally, the KA4 is offered in 7, 9, and 11-seat configurations, with a longer wheelbase and rear overhang providing more space in the rear.
Kia KA4: powertrain and launch details
In other markets, the KA4 is offered with two engine options – a 201-hp 2.2-liter diesel and a 296-hp 3.5-liter petrol. As for India, Kia will likely continue with the diesel.
