KHRC announces total KTBIF for 2022
The 2022 Kentucky Purebred Breeders Incentive Fund (KTBIF) has been released, totaling $17.4 million. Nine of the 10 highest earners in the U.S. in 2022 are Kentucky crossbreeds, and the state racehorse has won 69% of all graded bets races in the United States as well as 78% in all Class I races. To qualify, mares must be in state during pregnancy and the final prize amount is based on the foal’s final earnings at the racecourse. Governor Andy Beshear said: “The Kentucky Thoroughbred Breeders Incentive Fund has fulfilled its mission to keep mares and ponies in our beautiful state, fostering a strong, multi-billion-dollar equine industry. our dollars and provide more than 60,000 jobs for hard-working Kentuckians,” said Governor Andy Beshear.
