Kevin Spacey faces further seven sexual assault charges | UK News



The Crown Prosecution Service approved seven additional sexual assault charges against Kevin Spacey.

CPS said it was involved in several sexual assaults against a man between 2001 and 2004.

There is also the crime of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

The head of CPS’ special crime division said the charges were brought as a result of evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police.

Spacey, 63, has pleaded not guilty accusations in the UK spanning 17 years.

These include four counts of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent in relation to the alleged incidents in London and Gloucestershire involving three men. He is in his 30s and 40s.

Last month the Hollywood actor was found not responsible sexually abused a 14-year-old boy in the 1980s during a civil trial in the United States.

He was sued by stage and screen actor Anthony Rapp over an alleged incident in 1986 following a party at Spacey’s apartment in New York. Rapp, now 50, was 14 at the time, and Spacey was 26.

The 63-year-old is known for his leading roles in American Beauty and The Usual Suspects, for which he won an Oscar, and the popular American political thriller series House Of Cards.

He was artistic director at the Old Vic from 2004 to 2015.
