Kenyan serial killer arrested in Nairobi
Kenyan police have arrested a man they described as a “serial killer” suspected of being behind the gruesome murders of nine women whose bodies were found in an abandoned quarry that was used as a rubbish dump.
Police said Jomaisi Khalisia, 33, had confessed to killing 42 women since 2022, including his own wife.
The suspect was arrested at a bar early Monday morning as he watched the Euro final.
Kenyans have been shocked and outraged since the first dismembered bodies were discovered on Friday in the capital Nairobi.
“[He] confessed to luring, killing and dumping the bodies of 42 women at a landfill, all of whom were murdered between 2022 and as recently as Thursday,” said Mohamed Amin, head of the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
He said they found important evidence in the suspect’s home, including 10 phones, a laptop, a machete, identification documents and personal women’s clothing.
