It’s official: John Calipari can’t coach.

No college basketball coach has done less than Calipari.

And Thursday night’s loss to St.

The Kentucky Wildcats’ Calipari was upset in extra time by the Peacocks, 85-79.

Going into the game, Kentucky (26-9) is placed 2nd in that Indianapolis area and the Peacocks (21-11) are placed 15th. In Vegas, Kentucky has the second highest odds to cut the net when the dust clears. .

There’s no way around it, then, but it’s a historic, gruesome Kentucky loss.

And it ended badly in the inning as the Wildcats failed to take the free throw, 1-1 after actually taking a four-point lead in extra time in the opening minutes.

To be sure, it is a crisis through the ages. For St. Peter’s – a private school of approximately 3,500 students in Jersey City, New Jersey – this was the school’s first NCAA Tournament win. Into Round 64, Calipari played flawlessly, never losing a haves versus haves.

In the process, Kentucky won titles across College Basketball America. Sure, many have had Wildcats make it to the Quarterfinals – at least. Others have won entire balls of wax.

Go to Can’t Coach Cal.

We understand. March about disturbances. Somehow, the smaller schools that don’t have the business to compete with the big boys, move on to a one-and-done model.

Sounds cool. But early eliminations with a talented roster happened to Coach Cal all too often.

With the number of nails he has trained, Calipari’s championship trophy will be full. But he has only one title in his long career, a championship in 2012 with Kentucky. It’s great that Calipari received five plaudits that helped on the nearest school to end his season so early.

“They turned their back on us, they beat us on dribbling, they went off the screen and hit 3 seconds,” Calipari told the media after the game. “You have to credit St. Peter.”

This is not American Express. It’s college basketball. St. Peter’s has no business beating Kentucky. Not last night, never. Can-Coach Cal is possibly the best recruiter we’ve ever seen. The list of great players he didn’t win in college is embarrassingly long. There may not be enough space on the internet to list them all. In 2014-2015 alone, Can-Coach Cal lost to eight NBA players: Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, Tre Lyles, Tyler Ulis, Willie Cauley-Stein, Dakari Johnson and Harrison Twins, Aaron and Andrew.

In fact, he currently has 25 former players in the NBA. Impressive.

But it wasn’t that he couldn’t muster an army and win while they were under his watch.

And this isn’t just about his tenure at Kentucky. It happened his entire career.

Before coaching Kentucky to four Finals – the last in 2015 – he also led UMass and Memphis to the Finals in 1996 and 2008, respectively.

But both appearances were vacated by the NCAA for violations, though Calipari was unjustly cleared. (Yes, yes).

A championship is absurd. Any coach can win once. Even Rollie Massimino won a title. All it takes is for the stars to line up and some special kids to come your way and lead you on the title track. Usually, you can sit back and watch it happen.

If you want to know why the Basketball Hall of Fame is a fake, scam, Can-Coach Cal is Show A. Somehow Calipari got in. Mass 2015. Can you say early?

Hopefully the coach’s plaque can’t help but be with John Wooden’s, who didn’t squander his talent at UCLA and won 10 championships in 12 seasons.

As of March 5, 2022, with 767 official wins, Calipari ranks 17th on the list of NCAA Division I all-time winning coaches.

A Calipari team has won the championship three times with just one title.

Sound ridiculous? That is. It can only happen if the guide cannot coach. It’s not harsh. Such is the reality of Calipari.
