Kentucky Downs looking for full-time field manager
Kentucky Downs is looking for a full-time turf manager and field custodian to take care of year-round maintenance of the racetrack’s 1/5/16-mile turf as well as oversee the care of the barn area and facilities. the outdoor area of the facility.
The hire will work closely with consultant Butch Lehr, considered one of the best track supervisors in the world, and Kentucky Downs Vice President of Racing Ted Nicholson. This position includes a full range of benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation, and a company-appropriate 401K.
The Kentucky Downs 2023 meeting takes place on August 31 and September 2, 3, 7, 9, 10 and 13.
“We only run seven days a year, but we want the best pitch in America and that demands year-round attention,” Nicholson said. “We are looking for someone with track maintenance experience, practice, working well with people and will mentor other members of the track team.
