According to many reports, the actor Kaalan Walker convicted of raping six victims. Three of them are 16-year-old aspiring models. He also sexually assaulted a woman Saturday in a series of attacks that prosecutors called “sophisticated” attacks from 2013 to late 2018. Rolling Stone reported that the actor known for his role in ‘Superfly’ put his head down and began to cry as the divisive verdict from the Los Angeles jury was read.
Reports suggest he was acquitted of charges involving three of the ten victims in the case, including two of rape. Kaalan has maintained his chastity. In court, he exclaims, “I didn’t rape anyone, your honor. I didn’t rape anyone,” while in handcuffs after the jury left. During the argument that ended last week, Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Wallace called the actor a “serial rapist” who had dubiously dropped Drake’s name from most of his victims.
Prosecutors say more than 30 women have claimed to have assaulted Kalaan. As word spread of the verdict, Kehlani spoke out and shared a lengthy message urging those who called her a liar to defend the victims. She also shared a video that lasted more than a minute, saying she hoped the victims would find peace after facing the traumatic situation.
One of Kaalan’s victims, Sydney Stanford, also shared a very emotional post on Instagram. She wrote, “This has been going on since 2017. It’s like a never ending nightmare. I was in survival mode for five years. It finally ended. May this be your reminder that justice is possible. Your story is important and someone will believe you. She added, “This will never happen again. To all of his survivors I’ve met and haven’t met, I love you by default, and congratulations.” Sydney concluded. End the message by thanking Kehlani and Indya Marie!
Kaalan is currently facing 100 years of marriage at the upcoming sentencing, but his attorney, Andrew Flier, has announced he will file an appeal. Roommates, we will update you as more information becomes available.
