Former NBA player Omari Spellman scored twice in the win against KGC with 20 points and 8 rebounds, helping Anyang extend his winning streak to 4 games and improve to 27-11.
Seoul, which recently ended the contract of Filipino striker Justine Baltazar, remains at the bottom of the table with a score of 11-27.
RJ Abarrientos had a quiet night during Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus’ 84-82 loss to Goyang Carrot Jumpers during the Korean Basketball League at Ulsan Dongcheon Gymnasium on Saturday.
In 23 minutes of play, Abarrientos finished with just 5 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds while sinking only 2 of his 8 attempts from the field. Ulsan dropped to a 22-15 record in the loss.
Dedric Lawson’s 30-point burst helped the Carrot Jumpers win, taking their record to 20-18.
At Daegu Gymnasium, Suwon KT Sonicboom overcame Daegu KOGAS Pegasus with a score of 76-73.
Dave Ildefonso failed to score a goal for Suwon but Yang Hoo-Seok’s 22 points was enough to lead Sonicboom with a score of 17-21.
SJ Belangel was also barely a factor for Daegu, having only come on from the bench for 13 minutes and finished with two points, a recovery and an assist. Pegasus drops to 13-24.
