MANILA, Philippines—Ethan Alvano got the last laugh against RJ Abarrientos during Wonju DB Promy’s 94-90 win in the Korean Basketball League at Ulsan Dongcheon Gymnasium on Saturday.
Abarrientos had a better game, scoring 21 goals along with five assists and two rebounds but all in vain as Ulsan dropped to a 16-13 record. All seven of his on-field goals have come from the three-point area.
On the other hand, Alvano scored 9 points, 8 assists and 3 rebounds in the win over Wonju.
Dewan Hernandez and Kim Jong-Gyu each scored 18 points for DB Promy, bringing the score to 12-18.
At Changwon Gymnasium, LG Sakers failed to defend their home ground as they fell to Goyang Carrot Jumpers with a score of 73-64.
Justin Gutang flirted with a brace in a losing attempt, scoring eight points and eight pounds in a loss that gave Changwon a 16-12 record.
Goyang remained in the middle of the table with a score of 15-15, thanks to the contributions of Dedric Lawson and Jeon Sung-Hyun in the victory. Lawson and Jeon scored 27 and 21, respectively.
However, SJ Belangel did not have a vibrant Saturday afternoon at KBL.
He was sidelined in Daegu KOGAS Pegasus’ 83-77 win over the Seoul Samsung Thunders at the Daegu Gymnasium.
Daegu is still at the bottom of the rankings with 12 wins and 16 losses.
