Katie Noonan is arguably one of Australia’s most talented and respected vocalists.
But former athlete George has admitted that she feels nervous ahead of her National Anthem performance at the AFL Finals in Melbourne.

The singer said that she focuses on not cluttering the lyrics.
‘The important thing is ‘one and free’ and not ‘young and free’. And that threw me, she said.
Katie also says that there are some technical challenges that come with performing in front of 100,000 people.
Due to the size of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, there will be a three-second delay in audio.

Katie also says there are a number of technical challenges that come with performing in front of 100,000 people, including a three-second delay in her own hearing.
“It’s hard,” she explains, “when I’m ‘happy’ they start ‘Australian'”.
“Because of the delay,” she continued. ‘It’s more than second, it’s about three.’
Katie will have to rely on an in-ear monitor, which will help her regain her voice in real time.
“You just have to listen to it and focus while others are singing at a different point in the song.”

“I love it, I think it’s a good song,” she said of the National Anthem.
