Kate Middleton will attend Trooping the Color, but says she’s not “out of the woods yet”
Kate Middleton will attend Army of colors on Saturday, her first official royal engagement since announced her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
Kate, who last appeared in public on Christmas Day, confirmed her attendance on Friday and on Friday. posted a message on social networks thanked the public for their support as she continued to undergo a round of preventative chemotherapy following her shock cancer diagnosis in March.
In the message, Kate wrote that she had been “overwhelmed by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the past few months”, adding: “It really has made a difference to the world to me”. William and I and has helped us both get through the more difficult times.”

A new photo was taken in Windsor this week by one of Kate’s favorite photographers Matt Porteous, was also released by Kensington Palace on Friday, showing the princess looking fit and healthy.
Speaking about her recovery, Kate said she is making “good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak and tired and have to give in to let your body rest. But on good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of that feeling of well-being.”
In a message posted on Instagram and the Prince and Princess of Wales’s social media channels, Kate explained that her treatment is ongoing and will continue for several more months. She said she is “learning to be patient, especially with uncertainty” and added that she is not “out of the woods” yet.
To show she is feeling better, Kate revealed that she has started working from home and taking part in school life when she feels well enough.
“On days when I feel well enough, it’s fun to participate in school life, spend personal time on things that give me energy and positivity, and start doing some work small at home.”
Kensington Palace said Kate’s appearance at Trooping the Color did not mark a return to full-time activities and that the princess needed time and space to recover from her cancer treatment. The palace previously said the princess would not return to work until given the green light by her medical team, however sources said. Vanity fair that the princess is “100% committed” to resuming official duties when she is well enough.
Kate will ride in a horse-drawn carriage down to the mall during Saturday’s ceremony with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, And Prince Louis, and will watch the parade from the Major General’s office with other family members. She is also expected to appear on the balcony with her children in the flypast program. The assistant said King Charles, who is also undergoing cancer treatment, was delighted that his daughter-in-law was well enough to attend his official birthday parade.
It is hoped that the princess will be able to carry out further engagements in the summer as the royals enter their busiest season of the year, however, the princess is not expected to attend the Royal Ascot or Order of the Garter ceremony on Monday. The palace provided no further details about what other commitments Kate will be undertaking and said that Kate’s plans could change at short notice.
