Kate Middleton wants people to ‘reconnect with nature,’ she says in new statement


Afterward prominent appearance at Wimbledon last weekend, Kate Middleton officially is on summer vacation and is unlikely to make any public appearances until later this year. But the princess is still looking to support charities that call for her patronage through her online presence. On Thursday, she shared a message on Instagram in support of two new gardens that have opened at the Natural History Museum, along with photos from June 2021 visit to the museum’s educational programs, where she brings honey from her beehive at Anmer Hall.

“I am deeply supportive of the Museum’s commitment to creating a special space that encourages people of all ages to reconnect with nature and learn more about how we can protect our natural world,” she shared in a Stories post on the account she shares with her husband, Prince William.

In a second post, she noted that the museum’s programs are part of her broader work in child development. “I know the power of nature to support our growth and well-being, by bringing us joy and helping us to be physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy,” she wrote. “I hope these gardens will inspire and transform the thousands of people who visit.”

Kate has been patron of the museum on London’s Exhibition Row since 2013. Although the princess has not carried out her official royal duties since the beginning of the year due to abdominal surgery and subsequent cancer diagnosis, she was briefeds of her ongoing work on charity projects.
