It was a blazing sunny – albeit muggy – day for Royal Ascot on Friday, June 17, where Kate Middleton and Prince William made its debut at the annual Berkshire horse racing event. The Duchess and Duke of Cambridge were dressed to impress, as Kate impressed in an elegant black and white polka dot dress with a stunning matching hat, while William posed for a fussy look in a colored hat and tail black. Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth was unable to attend one of her favorite events for the fourth day in a row.
Kate and William waved to their adoring fans as they arrived in a carriage, leading the rest of the royal family in a lavish ceremony. When wearing the gorgeous dress, Kate accentuated the style with accessories, including diamond earrings studded with teardrop pearls. And although Royal Ascot officials have relaxed the dress code a bit due to the extreme heat – men are still allowed to take off their coats and ties! – William continues to appear by keeping his attire neat.
The most remarkable is the fact that Kate’s dress is late Princess Diana’s perfect polka dots at Royal Ascot in 1988, as seen below.
