One thing Kanye West will do is make a statement – whether it’s in music, fashion or his everyday acts. On Friday, he did all three! Days before Rolling Loud Miami kicks off this weekend, organizers announced Ye would no longer be Friday’s lead. But in true Kanye fashion, the artist surprised the audience by appearing in Lil Durk’s set. Not only did he throw shots at Kid Cudi, but he also traded his usual full-face mask for black paint and giant sunglasses.
As previously reported, about a week before Rolling Loud, the festival’s social media sites announced the change in lineup. They said, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, Ye will no longer perform at Rolling Loud Miami 2022.”
In Kanye’s place, the organizers scheduled his longtime best friend Kid Cudi. Former collaborators dropped out this year after Kanye refused to have Cudi in his album Donda 2 for being friends with his estranged wife Pete Davidson.
Kid Cudi’s Trash Throwing Crowd Festival – Welcoming Kanye . Publicly
Rolling Loud viewers bullied them on Friday. When Kid Cudi took to the stage for his attention-grabbing performance, the crowd responded with boos and throwing trash. At one point, someone hit Cudi in the face with what looked like a water bottle. Although he warned that he would leave the stage if this behavior continued, the trash continued to fly – even seconds after his explicit warning.
But when Kanye appeared with Lil Durk, the energy became receptive and turned into electricity. The audience listened to the music as the artist moved across the stage in baggy clothes and painted black. But Ye didn’t just show up after leaving the festival, he seemed to have added insults to Kid Cudi’s wound. One of the songs the commercial performed with Durk was My Father Stretches My Hands Pt. first–A track with Cudi on the hook.
It is unclear whether the old friends will meet at the festival. Kid Cudi also did not provide any further comment on the treatment he received on stage.
