Joshua vs. Usyk 2 will be held at Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia

Via Jim Calka: Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk will take place at the 40,000-seat Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia.

The business day is July 23, and JSD leadership is said to still be hoping the fight will end on that date rather than reports of it being moved to mid-August.

Sky Sports is reporting that the Joshua-Usyk 2 rematch will take place at the Jeddah Super Dome, which will be a great venue for their rematch.

Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) wants to reclaim the IBF, WBA & WBO heavyweight titles he lost to Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) last September in a nasty match at the stadium Tottenham Hotspurs in North London, England.

Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk will be held at Jeddah Super Domea record-breaking modern arena in Saudi Arabia,” per Sports sky.

“Sky Sports has been informed that JSD management still scheduled the Usyk vs. Joshua will be celebrated on July 23, despite recent reports of delays.”

Eddie Hearn is still working on his rematch, but wouldn’t be too disappointed if it was delayed by a week or two. Boxing fans have been waiting to see Joshua face Usyk again since last September, so it shouldn’t be a problem to wait a few more weeks.

Joshua said he has no plans to change his style with new coach Robert Garcia. It’s just a matter of doing a few things to get him ready to win three titles back from Usyk and then move on to the undisputed fight against Tyson Fury.

“Until I attend the press conference to say the official date, I think it might change again,” Joshua told iFL TV about his rematch with Usyk. “He is [Eddie Hearn] Work hard trying to arrange a day basically.

“I’m sure it’s around the corner, and that’s why I stay at the gym. Once it’s published, I’ll be ready to move on. The main thing is, ‘A happy warrior is a dangerous warrior.’ I am happy and in a good place.

“[Robert] Garcia is here right now and we’re doing some work. In my opinion, it is not about changing the style. Garcia’s style may be bent over to curl & weave, but I’m a 6’6” heavyweight.

“So it’s not a style change. It’s about experience and what you know at championship level,” Joshua said.

I expect an announcement next week that this war [Joshua vs. Usyk II] going to be mid-August,” Gareth A Davies told iFL TV.

Joshua will need to show something different in his rematch with Usyk because he’s clearly not going to equate him, and he shouldn’t even have tried last time.

Promoter Hearn seemed skeptical that Joshua planned to punch Usyk before their fight last September, but as it turns out, he was right. AJ should have kept his usual fighting style and used his full potential against the smaller fighter.
