Mitchell described how the condition affected her ability to walk – something she compared to the effects of polio.
“Again I couldn’t walk. I had to learn how again. I can’t talk,” she said.
“The polio didn’t take hold of me like that, but actually the aneurysm took away more. Taken away my ability to speak and walk.
“I was able to get my speech back quickly, but the step I took I was still struggling. But I mean, I’m a warrior. I have Irish blood! So, you know, I knew, “I’m starting again, another battle.”
