John Fury hit ‘useless’ Jake Paul: “He can’t beat me!”

John Fury has claimed that ‘useless’ Jake Paul can fight his son, Tommy, or go for a run – as well as claiming that he himself can beat the young American.

So far, Tommy Fury has pulled out of two fights with the YouTuber – the first due to injury and the second because of walking problems. However, as many in the sport consider the match to be perfect for both considering the stages they are in, the fight is still discussed frequently.

While Paul’s 6-0 (4 KOs) record impresses some, the list of retired MMA fighters on it doesn’t say much about boxing skills in the eyes of others. His most recent win was the best of his career, but that went to 47-year-old Anderson Silva, who overtook the 25-year-old.

One person who certainly doesn’t appreciate Paul is John Fury – the father of Tommy and WBC Heavyweight Champion, Tyson. He said IFL TV that, based on his fight with Silva, Paul could not defeat him even by his own son.

“He knows where we are. You know, if he wants to fight, let him fight, if he won’t let him run. I watched his last performance. He can’t beat me. He’s useless.”

Tommy Fury faces former US Marine, Paul Bamba, this weekend in Floyd Mayweather’s latest exhibit. The 5-2 light heavyweight represents a strange move from Team Fury as Tommy insists he wants to win the world title and put his name in the history books.

The reason behind the fight is more likely about the event than the competition. One special guest of the night was Jake Paul, who likely wanted to say something about Fury’s performance. He may also want to address his father’s comments.
