Joe Rogan did what Trump, Howard Stern refused to do

The so-called King of All Media sits contentedly on his throne as the Culture Wars swirl around him.

Howard Stern has spent countless hours fighting the FCC to secure his right to speak his mind. It was the 1990s, when Stern was under mass attack for his shocking ways.

Now?

He’s part of the SiriusXM radio station and shares views approved by the mainstream media, at least when he’s not enjoying one of his rich sabbaticals.

Need two examples?

It helps explain why he’s not very active on Twitter and has yet to adopt one of the platform’s competitors, like Parler or GETTR.

Joe Rogan did it last weekend.

The Spotify superstar, reacting to Twitter Moderator Marjorie Taylor Greene for allegedly spreading disinformation, joined GETTR very openly. However, this move is not surprising. Rogan has been solved Censorship Big Tech for weeks on his popular podcast, inviting guests to share their own bad stories about censorship.

This move shows that Rogan is both pragmatic (he could be the next superstar to be banned by Twitter) and wise. He knew joining GETTR would spark a wave of imitations and his move did just that.

Others who signed up over the weekend included respected journalist Salena Zito, leftist doctor Karol Markowicz and Zuby.

In addition, it strengthens Rogan’s position as a freedom of speech warrior, a man willing to stick his neck out for justice.

It remains to be seen if Rogan is still active on GETTR or just sharing an occasional message or promotion. What is clear, however, is that his announcement has convinced many others to do the same or at least re-engage with the platform after weeks of inactivity.

That’s what President Donald Trump has failed to do during his four years in office. That term ended with Twitter and Facebook permanently banning him for his alleged involvement in the January 6 riots.

Trump could have immediately directed his followers to Parler or Gab in the days and weeks that followed.

Instead, he did nothing, and Big Tech’s censorship got worse and worse.

Now, Trump is promising his own social media profits, reported as TRUTH, to compete with Twitter and co. It comes in a split market, which includes Twitter, Gab, GETTR, Caucus Room, Parler, and CloutHub. They are all vying for users, and their sheer numbers mean that Twitter will remain the winner on social media for the foreseeable future.

And, no doubt, will continue to censor the voices of the right while leaving the most irresponsible on the left.
