Via Robert Segal: Joe Joyce says he was able to knock out Tyson Fury fighting him. So Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) believes that in a real fight, he will come in contact with Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) and have a good chance of beating him.
Joyce says he wants Fury, Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua at this point. He defeated former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker by an eleventh round knockout last Saturday night to win the provisional WBO title in Manchester, England.
Joyce’s win makes him a must for Usyk to win the WBO, and he’s ‘believing he’ll get a title next year. Usyk and Fury will fight in February or March, and the winner will need to either defend Joyce or vacate the WBO title.
Winner Fury vs. It will be up to Usyk to decide if they want to face Joyce or not. It is possible that if they fight a rematch, they can pay Joyce a step aside unless the World Boxing Organization allows them to knock Joe out without paying him.
“I hit him in the fight, so I thought I’d hit him in the fight,‘ Joe Joyce said to iFL TV about Tyson Fury. “Yeah, I think I have a good chance. I think I’m ready, and I think it’s going to be a great fight,” Joyce said when asked if he thought he could beat Fury.
“He is a great fighter, a great champion, but I came for him.
“He is defeated, he is defeated,Joyce talks about Anthony Joshua. “His last performances did not impress me. His second fight against Usyk was better. It will be an interesting fight for revenge.
“I beat him up. I punched him and got him out of there,” Joyce said when asked to compare his performance against Joseph Parker to Joshua.
“That’s right, because when I fought him, I had less than ten years of nampaw fighting experience,” Joyce said when asked if he thought he could beat Oleksandr Usyk. “If I were to play him professionally, it would be 12 rounds with smaller gloves. I will have more preparation for him. I’ll throw more punches and make it harder for him.
“I’ve fought him before, so I know what’s going to happen. I would be in a good place to stop him or at least defeat him,” Joyce said.
