The 13th annual jockey vs-Horsemen charity basketball game, benefiting the New York Race Track Chaplaincy (NYRTC) programs, will take place on Thursday, August 4, 2022, in Central Saratoga Springs Recreation Center at 6:30pm
The game is one of the most popular events on the Saratoga social calendar and regularly attracts more than 300 fans. Free admission.
The equestrian team will once again be coached by Walk of Fame jockey Angel Cordero, Jr., with trainer Todd Pletcher and agent Kiaran McLaughlin training the team. Mitch Levites will act as the announcer and provide spirited comments.
“This game is always fun and more than that, it raises much-needed funds to support our various programs,” said Humberto Chavez, chaplain and executive director of New York Chaplaincy. “The Saratogians and the many fans who spend time in Saratoga have been great supporters of the people who care for the horses backstage.”
Fans will be able to enter the raffle and one lucky fan will leave with a custom messy haircut, signed by champion racer Irad Ortiz, Jr.
NYRTC provides the community with recreational programs, social services, and recreation for children, as well as educational opportunities and non-denominational religious services.
