Jockey Dylan Davis hit 1,000 career wins with a late rally finish on Heels Together coached by Christophe Clement (Spin hard) in the race Friday at Belmont Park.

“It feels great. Obviously, I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the horses, my agent Mike Migliore and the people supporting me – countless trainers and owners to take me. come here,” Davis said. “It feels really special. I love doing this and I love the game. I didn’t really keep track of my numbers,” added Davis laughing.

The son of prolific jockey and current NYRA racing coach Robbie Davis, Dylan Davis began his equestrian career in 2012 at Saratoga Racecourse. In 2021, he amassed a record earnings of $9,493,444 when he hit the winner’s circle 130 times from 927 starts.

Davis’ first Level I win came with Mutamakina on the October 2021 EP Taylor, also coached by Clement.

“Christophe is a coach that has really pushed me through the tougher round here,” Davis said. “He gave me a lot of opportunities. What I need is someone with support like him to help get the job done.”

This year, Davis claimed his first equestrian title as he racked up 63 wins at the 2021-22 Aqueduct winter meeting, finishing nine times against Trevor McCarthy. The meet-up included three days of four wins for Davis and six wins in six wager races with a total purse income of $3,411,574.
