Jo Koy: ‘I Hated That (Bleeping) Mask

Jo Koy hasn’t been able to do what he loves most for two years straight.

Stand-up comedy.

“This is all I knew to do,” he shared on Netflix’s Wednesday special, “Jo Koy: Live from the Los Angeles Forum.”

The “”Easter Sunday“The star showcases Filipino culture, parenthood and, of course, his mother in his first, first since 2019 special” Jo Koy: Comin’ in Hot. “

However, the indie giant kicked off the new show by mocking COVID-19 rules that, for him, don’t make much sense. He noted that some of the Forum’s patrons were wearing masks and he had no problem with that.

“It’s your choice…don’t cancel me, please! It’s just my opinion,” he cried, referencing how news outlets and Big Tech condemned those who criticized government decrees during the pandemic, rightly or wrongly.

He added his wisdom to the mask debate, saying that even masked patrons could become infected.

“Most likely, you can get [COVID-19] tonight. No one is six feet apart… everyone is laughing like this,” he said, imitating a braided donkey.

The widespread use of masks during the pandemic, he said, came from a natural place.

“I hate that mask,” Koy said. “We are all scared. … That mask is all we have. “

That fear comes in part from news outlets, which spread the worst elements of the virus and, as a result, bewildered Americans.

“’Here’s what you need to do, wear a paper square over your mouth. You’ll be OK.

“Jo Koy: Live from the Los Angeles Forum” is currently streaming on Netflix.
