Jio True 5G launches in some cities of Andhra Pradesh, the whole state will have 5G by December 2023


Jio has started its True 5G services in Andhra Pradesh with service launches in Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijaywada and Guntur. Andhra Pradesh Information and Technology Minister Gudivada Amarnath and Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy launched the Jio True 5G and Jio True 5G Powered wi-fi services at an event here on Monday.

A company release states that Jio proven the great benefits of 5G in healthcare, through the Jio Community Clinic medical kits and the revolutionary AR-VR device, Jio Glass.

“These benefits will bring about extraordinary changes in the lives of people in Andhra Pradesh,” it said.

Gudivada Amarnath, who is also Minister of Industry and Trade and Andhra Infrastructure and Investment, said 5G services will bring transformational benefits to the people of the state.

“I’m so happy to debut Jio’s True 5G services in Andhra Pradesh. In the long run, 5G services will bring transformational benefits to the people of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

The minister said Jio 5G services will be available statewide by the end of next year.

“In addition to the existing investment of Rs 26,000, Jio also invested more than Rs 6,500 crore to deploy the 5G network in Andhra Pradesh and this shows their immense commitment to the development of our state. By December 2023, Jio True’s 5G services will be made available in every town, Taluka, mandalam and village of Andhra Pradesh,” he added.

KS General Secretary Jawahar Reddy said the new service will open up growth opportunities in a number of areas including e-governance, education and healthcare.

With the launch of Jio’s True 5G services, Andhra Pradesh not only has the best telecommunications network, but also opens up opportunities for growth in the fields of e-governance, education, healthcare, IT and small and medium enterprises”.

“Jio True 5G will also allow citizens and governments to stay connected on a real-time basis, and will also improve the implementation and efficiency of government plans down to the end users. The government of Andhra Pradesh has a particular focus on the startup ecosystem and the introduction of Jio’s True 5G services will give a huge boost to startups that are working on new technologies such as universes, blockchain, Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning & Data Analytics. The introduction of Jio True 5G will further propel these Startups in Andhra Pradesh and give them wings to soar,” he added.

A Jio spokesperson said the True 5G network will expand statewide in a short period of time.

“We are delighted to launch Jio True 5G in Andhra Pradesh. The Jio True 5G network will span the length and breadth of the state in a short period of time. Jio engineers are working around the clock. to bring the benefits of True 5G to every Indian so that the transformative power and exponential benefits of this technology can be experienced by every citizen of our great country.”

The spokesperson expressed gratitude to Jagan Chief Minister Mohan Reddy Garu and the state government “for extending support in the digitization of Andhra Pradesh”.

Release support starting December 26th, Jio users in Tirumala, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur will be invited to join the Jio Welcome offer through which they can experience Unlimited Data at up to speed up to 1 Gbps+ at no extra charge.

More cities in the state will be 5G-ready by January 2023, it said.
