Jio Offers Free Unlimited Data Plans to Users, Here’s Why
Reliance Jio, a major telecom service provider owned by India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, faced widespread network outages earlier this week. According to Downdetector, more than 10,000 users across the country experienced problems making calls, using the internet, and accessing JioFiber services. The disruption led to numerous complaints and discussions on social media platform X. Now that services have been restored, Jio is offering a free plan as a gesture of goodwill to affected users.
Jio sent out a notification to many users, stating, “Dear Jio Users, Your service experience is our top priority. Unfortunately, on Tuesday morning, you experienced an issue with uninterrupted service. As a gesture of goodwill, we have applied the 2 DAYS UNLIMITED FREE PLAN to your number. You can start using the benefits of this plan as soon as it is activated. We appreciate your patience and value your experience with Jio. Regards, Jio.”

Jio Power Outage: Which Cities Are Affected
The outage mainly affected major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Nashik, Kolkata, Patna, and Guwahati. Both Jio mobile users and Jio AirFiber customers faced disruptions, with those who use multiple Jio services facing more severe issues. After a social media outage, the company acknowledged the outage and took responsibility.

A Reliance Jio spokesperson also stated, “This morning, some Jio customers in Mumbai faced difficulties due to minor technical issues. These issues have been resolved and services have been fully restored. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Jio Network Issues: What’s the Cause?
The outage was caused by a fire at the Jio IDC Data Center, which was the primary cause of the service disruption. In response, Jio has launched a two-day unlimited data plan to address user frustration and rebuild trust in the company. The move is aimed at making up for the recent disruption and reaffirming Jio’s commitment to its users.
