Breitbart News first noted Kimmel’s troubled past, violations that would normally get a comedian “cancelled” or at least cost them a gig or two.
Kimmel painted his face black to pose as NBA greats Karl Malone and Oprah Winfrey on “The Man Show”. He used n-word as well as over the years.
Those actions alone have kept him from hosting any award shows, let alone the biggest (still) Tinsel Town show.
That was just part of Kimmel’s troubled past.
Kimmel throws out homophobic jokes at Fox News star Sean Hannity in 2018 as the two debated policy issues. The late night star later apologized for the comments, though in doing so he threw more punches at the partisans.

The academy is known for examining comedians who may have told “wrong” jokes in the past.
Comedian Kevin Hart won an Oscar holding a gig just a few days ago Past “problematic”, less widely than Kimmel’s, came to light. Hart apologizes for being a bit questionable, but it doesn’t save what he calls the gig of a lifetime.
However, Kimmel will oversee the star-studded gala as if none of the above had ever happened.
Why?
Woke is a growing set of standards based primarily on progressive political power. Hart, while a much bigger movie star than Kimmel, maintains an apolitical stance in his public life.
Kimmel spends five nights a week training Republicans.
So the latter’s sins are forgiven for the greater good, and Hollywood doesn’t care if Kimmel drops the show’s ratings even further.
Politics dominates all in Hollywood today. And, for anyone forgotten, Waking up is still a joke.
