Viral video shows a woman singing Bollywood songs at a party in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Bollywood disco hits “Jimmy Jimmy” and “I’m a disco dancer” were among the songs played at a party for delegates at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization regional summit ( SCO) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, ending on Friday.
A viral video showed the three singers, with a woman at the head, dressed in formal black, singing some lines of two songs, both performed by the late Bappi Lahiri for the 1982 film Disco Dancer, prompting lead actor Mithun Chakraborty became an instant star .

As delegates from different countries danced to it – some even sang along – the moment ended as a tribute to Bappi Lahiri, who passed away earlier this year, and a nod to star of Mithun Chakraborty.
After two Hindi songs, both inspired by English songs, the singer switched to another language and the video was cut. It was not immediately clear which of the leaders or delegates were present.
Some social media users said the video shows how Hindi movies and songs travel across the region, if not the world. “The first states of the Soviet Union were big fans of Mithun Chakraborty and Raj Kapoor. I went to Armenia in July; my tour guide knew those two and the song ‘disco dancers’, very good” , Rahul Anand said on Twitter.
“These songs are popular in all Central Asian countries and Russia,” said another Twitter user, DP Mishra.
On the serious side of the matter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the summit.
Prime Minister Modi told Vladimir Putin in his first face-to-face meeting since Moscow’s forces invaded Ukraine: “Sir, I know today is not the time for war.”
Prime Minister Modi’s comments come a day after President Putin admitted that China – Russia’s key ally – has “concerns” about the conflict in Ukraine.
