Jets QB Zach Wilson suffers a non-contact knee injury

New York Jets Starting quarterback Zach Wilson escaped Friday night’s pre-season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles with an obvious leg injury.

Wilson appeared to have injured his right leg after trying to stay away from the pressure late in the first half. The sophomore quarterback bounced off the field after pocketing and trying to get past Eagles defender Nakobe Dean before falling to the ground.

Wilson left the game with a noticeable limp, but the non-contact aspect of his injury was related to the Jets.

The Jets picked Wilson No. 2 overall in 2021. New York only beat Wilson 3-10 in his rookie campaign. Wilson finished the year with 2,334 yards, 9 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 13 starts.

If Wilson is absent for an extended period, the Jets will turn to veteran Joe Flacco for central dominance.

In the first day of this month, both Flacco and head coach Robert Saleh agree that Super Bowl XLVII MVP is likely to kick off. They may have a chance to find out.
