Jeep India raises prices across SUV range by up to 4% from January 2023
Jeep India will increase prices on its vehicle lines effective from January 2023. The price increase will be 2-4%, depending on the model and variant. The price increase will affect all models in the brand’s lineup starting from jeep compass and Meridian, to the newly launched Wrangler and Grand Cherokee SUVs.

Please note that the price of the Jeep Compass was adjusted at the beginning of November this year. The price for the brand’s entry-level product soars up to $1,20 thousand. The new price increase will only make the model more expensive. Compass competes with the Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross in the segment. The latter is part of the Stellantis Group, the parent company of both Citroen and Jeep. Citroen India also announced a price increase across its range for the new year.

Notably the new generation Jeep Grand Cherokee will also get a price increase within a few weeks of launch. The brand’s flagship SUV arrived in India last month with prices starting at $77.50 lakh (old gallery in India). The SUV is locally assembled at Jeep’s facilities in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra, and India is the first market outside the US to assemble the luxury SUV.
With the new generation, the five-seat model has removed the diesel engine to replace it with a new 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces 268 horsepower and maximum torque of 400 Nm, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to all four wheels through a four-wheel drive system. The new Grand Cherokee is equipped with selectable terrain modes – Auto, Sport, Mud/Sand and Snow.
The feature list is equally extensive with a 10.25-inch digital dashboard, 10-inch HUD, wireless charging, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto connectivity and Apple CarPlay, 10.1-inch screen for the front passenger and screen entertainment for the rear seats. There are also power tailgates, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, etc.
Automakers often raise prices for the new year, and some players have announced plans to do so. This includes Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Citroen, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Renault and Tata Motors among others.
