Compass is Jeep India’s flagship compact SUV and best-selling in the country. The automaker recently launched a facelift version after its debut in 2017.
Jeep India has raised the price of its best-selling SUV again. For the fourth time this year, the automaker has increased the price of the Compass SUV. This time almost increased 2 lakh depending on variations. Under the new price list, the Jeep Compass will be available from 20.89 lakh (old gallery) and increase 32.67 lakh (factory) for the top Trailhawk version. The last time Jeep raised the price of the SUV was in September when it increased to 90,000.
The biggest increase among all Jeep Compass variants was for the base Sport petrol version, which saw an increase in 1,80 thousand. The petrol-powered 1.4 DCT anniversary edition of the SUV has also seen an increase in 1,20 thousand. The higher-spec Jeep Compass Limited, Anniversary Edition, Model S and Trailhawk variants have seen price increases of approximately 40,000-45,000. Meanwhile, the low-spec Longitude and Night Eagle variants have seen an increase in the price of 15,000-25,000. Only the price of the base sport diesel engine remains unchanged.
Jeep India celebrated the fifth anniversary of its Compass SUV in September this year. The automaker that launched in 2022 Compass 5th Anniversary Edition to mark the event. Compass made its debut in India in 2017 when the automaker entered the mass market in the mid-size SUV segment offering four-wheel drive.
Jeep car Compass is offered in India with two engine options. The first is a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine combined with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The engine can produce a maximum capacity of 163 horsepower. There is also a 2.0-liter diesel engine offered in combination with a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine can produce a maximum capacity of 173 horsepower.
The Jeep Compass SUV competes with the Hyundai Tucson, Citroen C5 Aircross, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Taigun among others in the premium mid-size SUV segment in India.
