Jeep celebrates 30th anniversary of Grand Cherokee with anniversary pack for 4 plug-in hybrid vehicles

It’s been 30 years and five generations since the debut of the original Jeep Grand Cherokee, which crashed into the lobby of the 1992 Detroit auto show, driven by none other than Bob Lutz.
At this year’s showStarting Wednesday and running through September 25, Jeep marked this milestone with the unveiling of a special 30th Anniversary Edition package for the 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid.
The package adds styling treatments such as black body accents, black 20-inch wheels, unique badging and a body-color-matching rear apron, lower moldings, side skirts, and more. rocks and fenders. There are also additional equipment including dual exhaust pipes, dual-pane sunroof, Capri leather trim, cooled front seats, 9-speaker Alpine sound system, wireless charging socket for mobile devices, digital rearview mirror, camera system dome view, parking sensors and 10.1-inch infotainment screen with 3D graphics for navigation, as well as Apple CarPlay wireless smartphone integration and Android Auto.

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe 30th Anniversary Edition
The Grand Cherokee 4xe’s powertrain includes a turbo-4 engine and a 2.0-liter electric motor up front, along with a second electric motor integrated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The system delivers 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, as well as a 25-mile pure electric range and 6,000 lb. The car also comes standard with a 2-speed transmission, a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio and a 47.4:1 crawl ratio.
Order books for the 2023 Grand Cherokee with the 30th Anniversary Edition bundle that will open later this year, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2023. The bundle will be available for a limited time and for a price. $4,700. Jeep hasn’t announced pricing for the 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe, but current 2022 model starting at $59,495, including $1,795 destination fee.
Grand Cherokee production is handled at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, with stretching Grand Cherokee processed at the neighboring Mack Avenue Assembly Complex plant. More than seven million nameplate examples have been built over the past three decades.
