Jaron Ennis said that Conor Benn would be injured if the pair got along.
“Boots” was on hand to discuss a potential future bout between him and his other welterweight world champion contender, and how it would play out.
Ennis is about to have a stunning second-round knockout victory over Canadian opponent Custio Clayton in the IBF title elimination match, and is currently back in training and busy as he awaits the date for his next game.
American sports YouTube channel, YSM Sports Mediacatch up with the world-ranked welder at his gym in Philadelphia.
Responding to a comment from Benn that he could take down the young American prodigy, Ennis said:
“He himself didn’t even believe it. He just sounds stupid. No one really knows who he is, but we can make that happen, anywhere, anytime, these guys keep talking too much. “
“He doesn’t really want to inaction. We’ll see if he’s really about it… You’ll get hurt messing with me! “
Both young boxers are ranked in the top five with all sanctioning bodies, so this is a possible fight in the not too distant future.
First, though, Benn has his hands full as he increases his weight to fight his opponent, Chris Eubank Jr in the weight class at the O2 in London, on 8 October, live on DAZN PPV.
