Japan leads all men based in Germany by Mares bred with 82

Group 1 double winner Japan (GB) (Galileo {Ire) ) raised the most mares in Germany during this tenure at 82, www.galopponline.de reported on Friday. G1 Grand Prix de Paris and G1 Juddmonte International S. hero retired to the Gestut Etzean in January. According to data from Deutscher Galopp’s Uniturf database, a total of 752 mares were bred into 40 stallions in Germany. In 2021, 43 stallions with 847 mares.
Second on the list is Gestut Ohlerweiherhof’s Isfahan (Ger) (Lord Of England {Ger}) who bred 70. His oldest ponies are only 4 years old and his descendants are led by G1 Deutsches hero Sisfahan (UK) in 2021 and Group 3 winner Italy and G1 runner-up Preis der Diana -up Isfahani (Ger). Double group 3 winner Waldpfad (Ger) (Shamardal), based in Gestut Erftmuhle, came in third with 63 mares. Coming in third at the 2019 G1 Sprint Cup, his first ponies were born this year. International Hero G1 Criterium Alson (Ger) (Areion {Ger}), who finished first season at the Gestut Fahrhof in 2022, bred 53. International global player and three-time Group 1 winner Best Solution (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) bred 37 mares at Gestut Lunzen. His first pony race in 2023.
