Janelle Monae has put out a message for those who are making fun of lil about her past fashion!

It all started on Twitter after a user noticed that Janelle’s style had changed in recent years. As a result, the person announced, “Janelle Monáe has finally shown how amazing she is instead of dressing like an exclusive man.”

This is a clear reference to Janelle’s so-called “suit and tie era”, as she is known to often wear tux in the early days of her career. It also opens up a social media discussion, which you can see in our post below.
Janelle replies on Twitter: ‘No new music just for this’

Janelle went on to quote the tweet claiming “monopoly man” and added two cents of her own. She punishes everyone who likes this tweet and declares, “There’s no new music just for this.”

In addition to Janelle poppin’ off on Twitter, she also stopped by Shade roomcomment section to leave a now deleted message for those who criticized her.
Specifically, she shares that – even in a suit and tie – she is stealing other people’s men and her style has left its mark.
“I really appealed to a lot of you by wearing the same black and white suit for over a decade. No artist wears black and white without being compared to me. I did that.”
Janelle continued, noting that she will become a trend-leader in ANY clothing style she pursues.
“I will continue to grow + remain the trendsetting icon of Freeazzmuthaf** naked, revealing, in haute couture, in a suit or in a Halloween costume.”
Finally, she forcefully ended her now-deleted comment by saying, “Take off my areola!”
