Everton give up pursuit of Pedro

Elsewhere, Everton gave up in an attempt to recruit Watford striker Joao Pedro.

Everton’s final offer was a loan with the option to buy Pedro for just over £20 million.

Watford don’t want to sell him, but won’t entertain the loan option – unless it includes an obligation to buy, for £30m.

Everton are still trying to bring in a new striker for the club, and they are now looking elsewhere.
