The presenter, 43, looked stunning wearing the official McLaren team overalls for the event.
James’ fun outing comes after he shocked fans last week by announcing that he was leaving The Late Late Show to spend more time with his family.

To stay comfortable during the day, writers Gavin and Stacey donned a pair of Nike Air Max sneakers as he swam around the track.
He then changed into a black McLaren polo shirt as he continued to mingle with racers and the press at the Miami International Autodrome.
The star enjoyed posing for selfies with fans while he offered some of his expert analysis on Sky Sports.

An insider told The Sun: ‘James and Jules have barely had time to see family in the UK over the past few years due to his work schedule. They will go backwards and forwards for a while.
‘In the long term, they both want to see their parents more and are considering moving back permanently after a few years. They have sold their house in London so will have to look for a new establishment in the capital. ‘

‘I never considered this my final destination, and I never wanted this show to be past a welcome time, I loved doing it and I really think in a year this will be a good time. to go ahead and see what’s outside. ‘

When asked if he plans to move home, James said he and his wife ‘really don’t know the answer to that’.
‘It’s something we think about and talk about a lot but we haven’t really made a decision on that yet. That’s the side of life we’re going to find out,’ he added.
‘I love living here [in LA]. I love all that it gives. My family and I have never taken this incredible adventure for granted. Every day I drive down to Sunset to work and I just think I’m from High Wycombe. ‘

He admitted that he looks forward to spending more time with close friend Mark Noble, who is the captain of his favorite team West Ham United. Noble will retire at the end of this season.

‘I’ve been here eight and a half years, he’s been at that club since he was nine. Nothing makes me happier than thinking about breathing in the same breath as Mark Noble, but I would greatly appreciate the compliments. ‘
