Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury one-sided rematch terms revealed
Jake Paul has revealed that they could be a second fight with Tommy Fury depending on how the first fight goes.
Gone are the days when rematch terms were introduced when a world champion volunteered to defend. Increasingly, second-fight contract regulations are appearing in the sport of boxing in high-profile matches, often hindering the advancement of its stars.
The latest bout with such a clause was Jake Paul versus Tommy Fury – a bout with nothing more than bragging rights between two opponents with 14 fights between them.
During a recent solo press conference to officially announce the match, Jake Paul said he ‘believes’ there is a rematch clause on his side.
Not to mention the same for Fury, it can be assumed he will have no choice if he tasted defeat at the hands of the Americans.
Fans will read it as much as they want, and it could provide the British with some much needed ammunition during battle week. He will be able to assert Paul’s side’s lack of faith in their man and that he doesn’t need it.
The fight took place on Sunday, February 26 in Saudi Arabia, with Sports ticket office BT handle broadcasts in the UK, and ESPN+ takes the reins in the US.
It will be fought with a catch of 185 lb, with penalties for heavier. With less than a month to go before teamfights, we expect extra card news to come.
The couple met face to face for the first time recently to launch the promotion, with security forced to step in and separate them.
