Jaja Santiago, Saitama post 3rd straight win in Japan V.League
MANILA, Philippines – Jaja Santiago maintained her fine form to help Saitama Ageo Medics win their third straight win after overcoming PFU Blue Cats, 25-20, 25-18, 25-22, in Season V .League 2022-23 Japan on Saturday at Yume Arena Takata.
The 6-foot-5 middle blocker finished with 11 points built on a 7-of-11 strike clip and four interceptions to keep Saitama unbeaten in three games.
Yuka Sato, once again, leads the Ageo Medics balance attack with 15 points from 14 kills and one trump card. Aki Meguro has 12 points. Kyoko Aoyagi scored 10 points, including two blocks, while Momoko Niida added nine points.
Santiago impressed in her first three games as Saitama took an early 3-0 lead, winning two straight games in their first two games against the NEC Red Rockets
Serbia international Sara Lozo has yet to play for Ageo Medics since her arrival last week.
Saitama is eyeing to keep his record in the tournament against the PFU on Sunday.
Melissa Valdes leads the Blue Cats with 13 points, while Roslandy Acostas has only 11 points, their team still without a win in three games.
