MANILA, Philippines – Jaja Santiago dropped 10 points as Saitama Ageo Medics vented his anger at Victorina Himeji, 25-18, 25-18, 25-16, to reclaim the V.League 2022-23 victory on Saturday at Home Ota City General Competition.
The 6-foot-5-tall middle blocker got 8 kills in her 9 mutant attempts and scored 2 blocks to defeat Himeji in just 80 minutes.
Yuka Sato leads for Ageo Medics with 13 points from 11 attacks and two blocks. Hiroyo Yamanaka had 11 points based on six spears, four blocks, and one trump card. Aki Meguro and Momoko Niida scored 10 and 9 respectively.
Santiago and Saitama are back after losing three of their last four games, splitting last week’s game against Hitachi Rivale.
Ageo Medics rose to fourth solo with a 5-3 record, looking for a comeback against Victorina again on Sunday.
Celeste Plak carries Himeji with 15 points, while Saki Tanaka has 12 points.
Victorina continued to reel in last place, suffering her seventh loss in eight games.
