Jacobs meets Ryder at London’s famous Alexandra Palace on February 12

Two-time US middleweight world champion Daniel Jacobs will clash with British super-middleweight contender John Ryder at the famed Alexandra Palace in London on Saturday, February 12, live worldwide on DAZN (excluding New Zealand and Australia).

Former WBA and IBF 160lbs king Jacobs (37-3, 30 KOs) secured a decisive victory over two-time World Title challenger Gabriel Rosado for the last time in November 2020 at the Seminole Hard Hotel and Casino Rock, Hollywood, less than a year from his fifth injury-time win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. of Mexico.

‘Miracle Man’, who hails from Brooklyn, New York, failed to unify the WBC, IBF and WBA middleweight world belts with heavyweight star Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in May 2019, losing all three scorecards of the judges, but three years on, the 34-year-old still has a burning desire to mingle with the best in the world.

Islington’s Ryder (30-5, 17 KOs) controversially lost points to former WBA super-middleweight world champion Callum Smith in his one and only world title bout at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool in November 2019, but 33 years- ex-Tony Sims trained-southpaw is back with wins over Mike Guy and Jozef Jurko in 2019 and 2020.

“I’m so excited to be back in the ring,” Jacobs said. “I have always dreamed of fighting in London as a professional, and I look forward to fighting in front of a great crowd. I’m doing my best on February 12th.”

“This is a fight where I need to really bring out my full potential,” Ryder said. “Jacobs is a great fighter but he got his time and now it’s time for me to shine! My dreams are at stake on February 12th and fate awaits. Time to get right back to where I needed to be.”

Ticket for Jacobs and Ryder cost £40, £80, £120 and £250 (VIP).

Matchroom Fight Pass members will be able to purchase tickets from noon on Monday, January 10. Priority ticket information will be emailed directly to eligible members.

General sale tickets can be purchased via StubHub (www.stubhub.co.uk) from noon on Tuesday 11 January.

More details on Undercard will be announced soon.
