Ugh! Its Halloween! During October, HollywoodLife running Sounds of Halloween. With horror being more mainstream than ever, there are plenty of songs that can make your Halloween spooky. Help kickstart the series (which is this year’s sisters Sound of pride) is the drag icon Jackie Beat.
Spooky season filled with Jackie Beat. She was in command Huluween Dragstravaganza Variety Special, co-starring and co-writing event features Monét X Change, Ginger Minj, Lady Bunny, Selene Luna, Landon Cider, Jujube, Manila Luzon, Mo Heart, and Mario Diaz. The second episode of Jackie Beat’s Dr. Jackie: Unlicensed Psychotherapist prominently appear from Alaska Thunderf-ck, Roz Hernandez, Drew Droege, Sam Pancake, and a special guest performance from the queen of Halloween herself, Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson. The six-part series premiered on OUTtv on September 19 and will end on Halloween. In the meantime, check out what Jackie has planned for the season and her picks for The Sound Of Halloween.

HollywoodLife: What’s your standout Halloween celebration? When someone says “Halloween”, what is the first thing that comes to mind from the past?
Jackie Beat: I remember dressing like Shelley Winters in Poseidon Adventures for the Halloween Carnival in West Hollywood. It’s one of my favorite movies and it’s really a perfect choice for beginners to pull as she is a mess! I had a life jacket around my neck, a HAPPY NEW YEAR hat on my head, and walked around with just one shoe!
What do you think is the most popular Halloween costume this year? What SHOULD be, in your mind?
There will probably be a lot Queen ElizabethS? If so, I hope they at least turned her into a zombie! But in my opinion, everyone should go like Jennifer Coolidgecharacter of above White Lotus!
Do you have any special traditions on October/Halloween?
I don’t want to say it, but most drag queens consider Halloween ‘amateur night’ because we dress up all year. But I love Halloween, and if I don’t have to work, I’d rather stay home and watch one of my favorite horror movies like the original. Carrie since 1976 or Mental or Night of the Dead while wrapping the Halloween candy I bought for the trick or snack that thankfully never showed up.
Which horror movie would you be in if for a budget and the freedom to do anything? You can remake any past movie or you can create your own.
Honestly, I don’t believe in movie remakes, especially if they’re classics and/or made right the first time. So I would probably spend money on an original idea. Something really scary like Lady Bunny Out of Drag in HD and 3-D formats!
What does October have in store for you – and the rest of the year?
The Huluween Dragstravaganza special, starring and co-written by me, begins streaming on Hulu on October 1 and is available for an entire month. And my new comedy series “Dr. Jackie: Unlicensed Psychotherapist” is currently airing on OUTtv. Trust me, Jackie Beat’s advice to people is just as scary!
