Jack Kennedy: Cheltenham Gold Cup winner set to return after Tipperary fall on Sunday | Racing news
Jack Kennedy could be back in action quickly after being bruised in a fall in Tipperary on Sunday.
There are concerns that Kennedy could be set for another spell on the sideline after he fell from the Fancy Foundations in the Tipperary Town Plate Handicap Chase.
The eight-year-old looked likely to finish a good second before collapsing tiredly the last time he saw the company selling gelding with his rider.
The rider underwent an X-ray on Monday morning to reveal the extent of the damage caused by the fall, but was positively told there were no broken bones.
The Cheltenham Gold Cup winner has been booked for five rides at Ballinrobe on Tuesday, but Kennedy’s agent Kevin O’Ryan has suggested the 23-year-old will wait until morning before deciding whether to spin. back to the saddle quickly or not.
O’Ryan said: “His X-ray has come back well, all is well.” “Jack wanted to see what it was like in the morning, before he decided when he was going to ride next. But luckily all the X-rays were clear, just a bruise.
“He’s fine, whether he rides on Tuesday or not is another matter, he can choose to take a few days off, but there’s nothing wrong with that.”
