Italian luxury fashion house Gucci buys land on Sandbox metaverse
Gucci Vault is building its own virtual world on The Sandbox, the fashion house said in a tweet.
Digital collections created and designed by Gucci designers will be made available through The Sandbox to players and creators.
Italian luxury fashion house Gucci has acquired land on The Sandbox, a virtual Metaverse where players can play, build, own, and monetize their virtual experiences. The new project is an interactive expansion of the Gucci Vault, the company’s experimental concept store, the vision of creative director Alessandro Michele.
“Inspired by those looking for a new playground, a new meeting place is starting to take shape in The Sandbox. Voxel by voxel, the private enclave of the Vault, serves as the host of a range of experiences that could not be better,” the company said on the Gucci Vault website.
Vault acts as a messenger of Gucci’s presence in the metaverse, growing by creating with the community. Web3-based initiatives including NFT join the platform’s virtual shelves as objects from different eras with diverse backgrounds allow for ideas to hybridize and create the perfect conditions to spark inspire new creativity for the future.
