After an impressive rookie season when he dashed for the 1,200 metres, the Steelers re-run Najee Harris struggled in the first two games of the second season. The former first pick had 72 yards of dash after 25 attempts, good at just 2.9 yards per take.
Some blamed the Steelers’ malicious attack line and assault coordinator Matt Canada for Harris’s struggles and lack of production. However, former Steeler athlete Trai Essex, a two-time Super Bowl champion, has blamed Harris for some of the problems.
On Monday, Essex posted a screenshot of the first game from the Steelers’ 17-14 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. He said that Harris had “predestined” his decision to hit the outside with “almost perfectly blocked” play.
