iPhone 14 arrives at Apple Watch Ultra, a deep dive into Apple’s ‘Far Out’ event

At Apple’s ‘Far Out’ event on Wednesday, the US giant announced the launch of 4 new smartphone models – iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple’s new phone features collision detection, satellite emergency communications, camera improvements, and overall performance. The company also announced the Apple Watch Series 8 and a new Apple Watch SE model, along with a rugged new Apple Watch Ultra smartwatch. And finally, the AirPods Pro 2 truly wireless (TWS) headphones have been launched as a successor to Apple’s 2019 high-end TWS headphones.
On this week’s Gadgets 360 podcast episode Trajectoryhost Akhil Arora Talk to the Executive Editor Jamshed Avari currently at Apple’s headquarters in California, Review Editor Roydon Cerejo and Premium Reviewers Sheldon Pinto. We’ll be discussing some of the key points in Apple’s latest product launches, from the new iPhone 14 models to the company’s TWS headphones.
What does the new iPhone 14 series offer?
While this year iPhone 14″ Still keeping the same price as its predecessor launched, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max come with a higher price tag. Meanwhile, in the US, Apple’s latest phone launched at the same price point as last year’s iPhone 13 series. According to Jamshed, Apple’s decision to keep the price of the iPhone 13 unchanged, while the price increase of the iPhone SE (2022) may disappoint some users.
But what do you get with that extra money? The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max feature Dynamic Island, which integrates Apple’s fancy software to create a “fused” hole and pill-shaped cutout. This is arguably the biggest change to Apple’s smartphones since the iPhone X was introduced in 2017. The change could be very useful for users who don’t need access to the notification center. regularly, Roydon noted on the podcast. Thanks to the software, Apple has enabled additional functionality around the cutouts, and developers can use the API to provide more capabilities at the top of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
On the camera front, Apple has added a new 2x telephoto mode for the top camera iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, thanks to the new 48-megapixel camera. Apple says that users will only be able to access this in ProRaw mode, according to Jamshed. We’ll have to wait and see how well Apple’s claims about improved camera functionality hold up in our review of the new phone.
Jamshed says the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max feel very fresh and could motivate those on the fence, or those waiting to upgrade from older iPhone models. The new Always On Display (AoD) mode isn’t just a minimalistic text-only display like an Android phone – it’s actually an iOS lock screen that refreshes at 1Hz to save battery. He says it almost changes your phone lock pattern.
Meanwhile, iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus comes with the A15 Bionic chip that debuted on last year’s iPhone 13 models, with a five-core GPU for improved performance. The iPhone 14 Plus is significantly lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, the changes are minimal – and Roydon feels that this is a good time to buy the iPhone 13 with most in India.
Apple develops Ultra with a new watch
Apple’s first device with the word ‘super’ was unveiled at the ‘Far Out’ event, in a new form Apple Watch Ultra. The company also launched Apple Watch Series 8 squad, along with a Apple Watch SE model. Sheldon said that the Apple Watch Ultra was a confusing product, while Jamshed – who tried it out after the launch event – said it was a bulky wearable. While features like the built-in dive computer are fun, Sheldon says the 60-hour battery life can’t be compared to an expedition watch that runs for days on a single charge.
Upgrade fancy AirPods
That leaves AirPods Pro 2 – the second generation of Apple’s premium TWS earbuds. They feature active noise cancellation and improved sound quality. Apple didn’t announce Hi-Res audio support, but Jamshed said that people who tried the headphones at the event said active noise cancellation has improved significantly. We’ll know more about how they work as part of our upcoming reviews.
