iPad users will have to wait for new features because iPadOS 16 may be delayed
While there is no explicit mention of a delay, the mention of “private schedule” gives us a clear indication that iPadOS 16 will not launch on schedule. There is no particular reason for the delay but it is thought that one of the features may be behind it.
At WWDC 2022, Apple introduced iPadOS 16 and one of the key features is Stage Manager. According to Apple, Stage Manager is a brand new multitasking experience that automatically organizes apps and windows, making it quick and easy to switch between tasks. Users can create overlapping windows of different sizes in a single view, drag and drop windows from the side, or open apps from the Dock to create app pools for faster, flexible multitasking more active.
Apple has been making a big effort to make multitasking smooth and seamless on iPad with each version of iPadOS. It has been suggested that Stage Manager is a bit “unstable” and requires an iPad running the M1 processor.
A recent Bloomberg report also suggests that Apple will hold an event in October where it is expected to announce iPad as Mac devices. The report says that it’s about time Apple could roll out iPadOS 16 alongside the new entry-level iPad.
