iOS 16 ‘drains’ battery: What you can do to fix it
Check out your Photos app
When you upgrade to a new version of iOS, the backup is restored and the photos/videos are something that takes a long time to fully download. Because iPhone is being overworked in the background, battery drain happens faster. You should plug your iPhone into the charger to save more battery.
There’s also a new iOS 16 feature in the Photos app that helps deal with all the duplicate photos in the photo library. With iOS 16, Apple introduced a feature where the iPhone will automatically go through the entire library to identify duplicate photos. If you have thousands – and many actually have more photos – on your iPhone, the copying process will take a lot of time and therefore consume a lot of battery.
Update your apps
After updating the software, apps need to sync with all new technology introduced with iOS 16. Developers have updated their apps to support new features and technologies in iOS. 16. However, users may not have updated them yet. If apps haven’t been updated, they can drain more battery than expected.
