Into Mischief Tops Spendthrift’s 2023 Stud Fees

Into Mischief once again leads Spendthrift Farm’s list for 2023 with his stud fees remaining at $250,000 S&N, the operation announced Thursday.

Spendthrift added four new stallions including MGISWs Jackie’s Warrior (Music by Maclean) and Cyberknife (Gunman), both for Breeders’ Cup. Other new additions are GI winner Belmont S. Mo Donegal (Uncle Mo) and GSW The greatest honor (Tapit), both were present for on-farm inspection.

Champion Jackie’s Warrior, who is likely to be a favorite in the GI Breeders’ Cup Sprint, will require a fee of $50,000 S&N. Winner of the GI Arkansas Derby and GI Haskell Invitational S. Cyberknife fees will be determined after he runs in the GI Breeders’ Cup Classic. Mo Donegal, who retired shortly after the Classic win, will cost $20,000 S&N. While the regal-breed Greatest Honor will have an introductory fee of $7,500 S&N.

Into Mischief’s Derby Winner Son and Horse of the Year Real will earn $60,000 S&N for its third season, down $10,000 from last year. Meanwhile Bolt d’Oro will see his fees increase after a strong freshman season, from $20,000 to S&N $35,000.

Omaha Beach and Yaupon will remain at $30,000 S&N. Omaha Beach’s crested birds have proven to be quite popular, making him the top of his class at recent annual auctions. Yaupon is in its second season this year.

Spendthrift’s Under-$20,000 stallions led by champion Vino Rosso at $15,000 S&N, down from $20,000 last year. MGISW Vekoma and champion Mitole will also cost $15,000 S&N.
