Instagram makes it easy for users to find locations with its new map feature

Instagram is adding a new map feature, which is said to look like a Google-inspired feature, but with some modifications. CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the parent company of Instagram, shared a post on Instagram Stories to reveal the new searchable map on the platform. The post suggests that the new feature will allow users to discover popular local businesses near them and also be able to apply filters by category. The updated functionality also allows users to search for restaurants, attractions and other attractions by tapping on location tags in Feed posts or through Stories.

According to an update shared by the CEO of Instagram holding company Meta on his post on Instagram Stories, the photo-video sharing social networking platform is introducing a new Searchable Maps feature that will allow users to search for restaurants and other hotspots more convenient. On the other hand, the upgrade is supposed to be like Google-inspired Map. Users will be able to discover popular businesses around them and also apply filters in different categories, as mentioned above.

Instagram Maps will now support hashtag search and allow users to explore by tapping on tagged locations in the feed or Stories. It also allows them to save their searches in a gallery and share the location with their friends on the platform.

At the same time, users can also type the name of the city or neighborhood directly into the Explore page and see the results on the map. Furthermore, location stickers on Instagram user posts and Stories will add content to make search results visible to others on the platform. However, others will be able to see it as long as the Instagram profile sharing the location is public.

Besides, Instagram recently introduced a checkout feature that will allow users to make purchases from small businesses through direct messaging. Through the new feature, users will be allowed to make purchases with various qualified small businesses on the social media platform without leaving the conversation.
